A woman who we can see from the torso down, is sitting on the floor in an oversize sweater and thick socks. Next to her is a decorated Christmas tree, pillows and blankets and a few bowls of snacks.

The Ultimate List for Smart Gifting

by Liza Semenova

The holidays really feel like they snuck up on us this year. Some lists are full of sweatpants and more sweatpants, but not all giftees can be so easy to shop for. Whether you’re stumped or just don’t know where to start - we get it. We’ve put together some of our favorite brands for you to make your shopping journey a little easier.

Not looking to go the traditional gift route? Does your recipient already have everything they could want? In the season of giving, you can also give back to a worthy cause. Good things don’t just come in brown paper packages tied up with string. We've also included some of our favorite non-profits that strive to make an impact every day.

Spritz your way to a better mood. Happy Spritz makes natural, vegan essential oils for everyone on your list. Happy Spritz was founded by husband and wife dream team Bram and Michelle.
The couple spent years creating essential oils for personal before starting Happy Spritz. From spritzes to essential oils and towelettes, their products are perfectly sized stocking stuffers for the essential people in your life. If you're not already head over heels, Happy Spritz donates to animal rescue groups throughout North America and makes social media “pledges” which help impact the chances of dogs getting adopted. We’re all fur that!

Bilingual (English/ Spanish) books under a Christmas treePhoto: @lil_libros

For the love of books! After two mothers struggled to find bilingual picture books to introduce Latin American culture to their children, they came to one clear solution: work with talented authors and illustrators to create them. Lil’ Libros honors celebrated Latin American figures like Frida Kahlo and superstar soccer player Pelé, while also teaching your little ones their ABC’s and 123’s. Give bedtime stories an upgrade with Lil’ Libros.

Something smells amazing - no it’s not Christmas cookies. It’s our favorite clean, cruelty-free perfume brand Skylar. Her time at The Honest Company made founder Cat more conscious of everything she was putting on her body - including her perfume. Transport your recipient to island life with Isle or a nature getaway with Willow. Not sure what they prefer? Skylar’s got you covered with their sample palette. Perfect to find their perfect match and as a travel companion.

Nearly 1 billion people around the world are unable to read or write. Without literacy, education, job opportunities and human connection are all impeded. Room to Read created global literacy programs with the goal to break the cycle of childhood illiteracy and poverty. Through these programs, Room to Read works closely with communities to ensure primary schools have books of various skill levels in local languages. Their program also helps train teachers and librarians to engage young readers. With over 18 million children impacted so far, give the gift of reading this year!
